William Orin Seekins

William Seekins, 77, of Freeport died Thursday at Hawthorne House.
He was born in Searsport, son of Alonzo and Ruth Anne Young Seekins, and attended schools there.
During World War II, he served in the Army.
Mr. Seekins was a woodsman in his early years until he moved here. He then worked at Freeport Shoe until its closing and later for Dingley Press.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Hazel Gordon Seekins, a daughter, Geneva Maines, and a stepson, Robert Gordon, all of Freeport; two sisters, Bertha Belden of Palermo and Gertrude Cook of Searsport; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lindquist Funeral Home, 37 Portland St., Yarmouth. Burial will be private.

William married Carlene L. Belden on 27 Oct 1948 in Maine, United States. (Carlene L. Belden was born on 20 Oct 1932 in Liberty, Waldo, Maine, United States and died on 8 Nov 2005.)

William next married Hazel Irene Gordon, daughter of George Clarence Gordon and Ruby Geneva Merry, on 1 Oct 1964 in Maine, United States. (Hazel Irene Gordon was born on 28 Apr 1923 in Brooks, Waldo, Maine, United States, died on 29 Jul 2015 and was buried in Webster Cemetery, Freeport, Cumberland, Maine, United States.)
