LAKELAND FL and BREWER ME -- Floyd Frederick Huston, SGM, Retired United States Army. Beloved Dad and Papa, 88, passed away April 16, 2020 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, Florida.
 He was born May 26, 1931 in Woodland, ME to Perley and Blanche Huston.
 Floyd graduated from Caribou High School in 1949. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Glenice J. Nickerson-Huston, and they shared 60 years of marriage.
 Floyd was inducted into the Army in 1956 and they spent the next 22 years travelling to military posts around the world and throughout the United States. Through the years in the Army, he received many awards and commendations. Among these awards in the Army, he received the Meritorious Service Medal. During the period of January 1970 to January 1971, Floyd distinguished himself by meritorious service by showing loyalty, diligence, and devotion to duty in keeping with the highest traditions of military service which earned him the Bronze Star.
 In 1977, he worked for the Post Office, where he held that position for 18 years.
 After his retirement, they returned to Washburn, ME; bought a home; motorhome; and visited all the lower 48 states. In 1996, they moved to Lakeland, FL, and wintered there the rest of their lives. In 2000, they bought their home in Brewer, ME; and spent their summer months there. He loved to travel, spending time with family, an inventor at heart, and studying maps.
 Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Glenice; his parents; his only sister, Janice; and one of his brothers, Charlie.
 He is survived by his three children, daughter Beverly and husband Charlie Trottier of Holden, ME; son Frederick and daughter-in-law Katherine Huston of Lakeland, FL; and son Douglas and daughter-in-law Linda Huston of Brattleboro, Vermont; and one brother Robert Huston of Presque Isle, ME. His grandchildren Jennifer and husband Kris Schroeher, Lee-Ann and husband Joey Salley, Amber and husband Ivan Santiago, Andrea and husband Kyle Kramer, Angela and husband Joshua Haines, and Marybeth Huston, along with nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many friends who he met along his incredible life journey.
 Due to Covid-19, a graveside service has yet to be determined.
 
 Floyd married Glenice Joy Nickerson, daughter of Leigh Norris Nickerson Sr. and Annie Marguerite Pooler, on 1 Jan 1955 in Washburn, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
