MILFORD - William W. Slavin, 77, of Milford, formerly of Bellingham, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at his home after an illness.
He was born in Bellingham, the son of the late Walter and Lillian A. (Glllenery) Slavin, and lived most of his life in Milford. He attended Bellingham public schools as a young boy.
Mr. Slavin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 1526 in Medway for many years.
He was employed as an oilburner technician at the former Clarke-Shaughnessy Oil Co. in Milford for 30 years, and belonged to the local 4 laborers union.
He leaves his children and their spouses, Michael and Natalie Slavin of Honolulu, Thomas (USN, Ret.) and Margaret Slavin of Virginia Beach, Va., James and Patricia Slavin of Averill Park, N.Y., William Jr. and Cynthia Slavin of Mendon, Carol Ridolfi of Gloucester, Va., Linda Slavin of Denver, Colo., Julie Harris of Mendon, and Darlene and Christopher Page of Bellingham; a brother, Edward Slavin of Franklin; five sisters, Mae Drew, Lilian Kolenda and Helen Lotfy, all of of Milford, Pearl Barr of Whitinsville, and Margaret Claflin of Mendon; 18 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A graveside service will take place Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m., at Vernon Grove Cemetery, Vernon Street, with Rev. Richard Scioli C.S.S., pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, officiating.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford.


William married Elizabeth Ann Randall, daughter of Paul Arden Randall Sr. and Grace Annie Tilley. (Elizabeth Ann Randall was born on 4 Nov 1940 in Bridgewater, Aroostook, Maine, United States and died on 18 Feb 2004 in Uxbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.)
