• Obituary: Morning Sentinel, 28 Jun 2005, Waterville, ME. SKOWHEGAN -- Rodney R. Corson Sr., 65, of Skowhegan passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home. He was born in Athens on June 9, 1940, the son of Elmer S. and Irene (York) Corson. He was educated in the schools of Skowhegan. Rodney was a supervisor for Seth Thomas Clock Manufacturing in Connecticut. He moved back to Maine in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being a member of the North American Fishing Club. He had an outgoing and humorous personality. He was a very loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by two daughters, Rosa Corson and longtime companion, Patrick White, of Canton and Rhonda Corson of Connecticut; two sons, Rodney R. Corson Jr. and wife, Katrina, of Benton and Stacie Searles; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; seven sisters; two brothers; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, and a brother. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. Rodney married Dorothy May Raven, daughter of Herman Beecher Raven and Zelma Louise Gardner, on 30 Jul 1960 in Knox, ME.1 The marriage ended in divorce in Jan 1964. (Dorothy May Raven was born on 20 Jun 1942 in Bangor, ME 3 and died on 18 Dec 2010 in Waterville, ME.)
• Newspaper Article: Morning Sentinel, 3 Aug 1960, Waterville, ME. Miss Dorothy May Raven, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Raven of Albion, and Rodney Ray Corson, son of Mrs. Irene Corson of Skowhegan, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday at Knox Center. The Rev. Pearl Blenis performed the single ring ceremony. The bride was attired in a gown of white silk and satin with bow trim and she carried a bouquet of sweet peas and stephanotis. Her maid of honor was Miss Patricia Faye Thompson of Albion. She wore a gown of pink chiffon with blue flower print and she carried a bouquet of red roses. Kenneth A. Raven, Albion, brother of the bridegroom[sic: read "bride"], was best man. Music was by Mrs. Blenis. A reception was held at the home of the bride in the evening. Guests came from Bath, Bangor, Knox, Thorndike, Unity and Skowhegan. The bride's mother was attired in a blue chiffon dress with rhinestone trim. Mrs. Corson was graduated from Besse High School in the class of 1960. Mr. Corson attended Skowhegan schools and is employed by Norrwock Shoe Company. The couple left on a wedding trip to Portland, the bride traveling in a silk print dress with corsage of red roses. They are residing at Skowhegan for the present but plan to make their home at Mercer.
