OXBOW PLANTATION -- David A. Dow, 64, died unexpectedly June 29, 1998, in Turner. He was born in Allagash, Sept. 16, 1933, the son of Harold M. and Annie (Connors) Dow. He was a 1951 graduate of Hartland Academy and attended the former Farmington State Teachers College. He was employed by the Seven Islands Land Co. for many years, having worked as a scaler and later as a bookkeeper and treasurer. Mr. Dow was a former member of the Advent Christian Church in Bangor as a member of Masonic Pioneer Lodge No. 72 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Tillikum Chapter No. 99, both of Ashland. He was an avid canoeist and outdoorsman for much of his life. In addition to his mother of St. Francis, he is survived by his wife, Judith (Greenlaw) Dow of Oxbow; two daughters, Christine Stadig of Oxbow and Katrina Good of Dover, N.H.; two grandsons, Dustin A. Rhinebolt of Dover, N.H., and Calvin L. Stadig of Oxbow; three brothers, Harold R. Dow of Lovell, and John A. Dow of Cornville and James D. Dow of Turner; four sisters, Henrietta Mason of Pleasant Ridge, Mich., Joan Randall of Dexter, Jean Gibson of Allagash and Rowena Walton of Westbrook. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by members of the Pioneer Lodge, followed by a ceremony led by the Tillikum Chapter of the Eastern Star. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Oxbow Congregational Church. Committal service and interment will be in Willard Cemetery, Oxbow. Those who wish may contribute to the Oxbow Congregational Church, care of Maurice Anderson, General Delivery, Oxbow 04764. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
