CHESTER R. ANDERSON
PORT HENRY, N.Y., and OXBOW
Chester R. Anderson, 85, of 152 North Main St., Port Henry, died Oct. 5, 1994, at Moses-Ludington Hospital, Ticonderoga after a short illness. He was born Jan. 18, 1909, at Oxbow, the son of Hugh and Lena (Pelletier) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a retired employee of Republic Steel Corp., Mineville. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and co-workers in his community for his many acts of kindness. His hobby, if he had one, was rebuilding his house and the rock garden both of which were acts of great achievement. Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Willard; a brother, Maurice of Oxbow; four sisters, Gertrude Christie of Mapleton, Bernice Greenlaw of Masardis, Velma Sherman of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Margaret MacDonald of Thomaston, Conn.; many nieces and nephews including a special nephew, "Woodie" Willard. He formerly was a member of Morning Sun Lodge No. 142 of Port Henry; a member of the Scottish Rites Bodies of the Valley of Albany and New York Consistory 32nd Degree of the Valley of Albany. A funeral service was conducted Satuday, Oct. 8, at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry, with burial at Union Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Service, Port Henry, N.Y. 12974.

Chester married Beryl Evelyn Willard, daughter of Samuel Harris Willard and Alvada Myra Condon, on 1 Jul 1928 in Woodstock, NB.1 (Beryl Evelyn Willard was born on 21 Jul 1913 in Mapleton, ME,7 8 died on 18 Nov 2000 in Elizabethtown, NY and was buried in Moriah Union Cemetery, Moriah, NY.)
