  Research Notes:

Ancestry keeps suggesting that his early census records from Seattle, WA are from parents William H. and Norma Edwards. The problem with that is that he also appeared on the 1910 census. The other problem is that it consistently shows him as being born in South Dakota, but whenever he self-identified he said he was born in Washington state. He certainly could have been born in South Dakota and then they settled in Washington and that's what he considered to be his hometown. Need to find obits for his parents to seek confirmation, but no luck with that as of 5/6/2022.

BELFAST -- William T. Edwards, 64, died July 22 following a brief illness. He was born in Seattle, Wash., Dec. 1, 1911. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Knight) Edwards of Belfast; two sons, Lewis and William Edwards, both of Rockland; two stepsons, Gary P. Lemont, New Haven, Conn., and Sgt. Henry M. Cook Jr., of West Germany; three stepdaughters, Mrs. William (Diane) Grosser of Liberty, Mrs. Donald (Josephine) Nickerson of Monroe, Mrs. Keith (Gayle) Harper of Camden; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at the Coombs Funeral Home, Belfast, Sunday, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. There will be no calling hours. Persons who wish may contribute to Mr. Edwards' memory, to the Maine Heart Association.

William married Hazel Irene Gordon, daughter of George Clarence Gordon and Ruby Geneva Merry, on 30 May 1942 in Maine, United States. (Hazel Irene Gordon was born on 28 Apr 1923 in Brooks, Waldo, Maine, United States, died on 29 Jul 2015 and was buried in Webster Cemetery, Freeport, Cumberland, Maine, United States.)
