• Obituary: Bangor Daily News, 10 Jun 2016, Bangor, ME. VAN BUREN - Clarence A. LeVasseur, 61, died peacefully Saturday, May 28, 2016 at a Van Buren healthcare facility, with his loving family at his side, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born May 25, 1955 in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, a son of the late Lionel and Doris (Morin) LeVasseur. He was a long-haul trucker for many years, last working with Albert Farms Trucking, Madawaska, for over 12 years. Previously he worked as a CDL instructor with Northern Maine Community College and began the Loring Job Corps Truck Driving program, earning him the "Loring Pride Award" in 2001. Clarence also worked several years as a Deputy with the Aroostook County Sheriff Department. He was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly, Van Buren. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and attending riding events. He also loved to fly fish, frequenting many little spots around the county with his friend, Dale. He had a knack for woodworking and carpentry and was a natural "Mr. Fix-It." He is survived by: his loving fiancée of 12 years, Linda (Bouchard) Blanchette of Van Buren; two children Christopher LeVasseur and his fiancé Jeffrey Howell of Lynn, MA and Heather LeVasseur and her companion Lance Smith of Presque Isle; one sister, Susan Albert and her husband Gil of Winterhaven, FL; two precious granddaughters Hailey & Emily Smith; many special people he considered his family Angel (Blanchette) Sperrey, her husband Keith and their children Skylah Gendreau, Alex & Dylan Ouellette, and Sabrina & Alaina Sperrey and Jason Blanchette and his wife Jessica and their children Jacoby & Jaden Blanchette; and many cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday 6-8:00 PM and Tuesday 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
