Edward H. Nelson,77, of Grovedale Street died Thursday at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Donna R. (Gordon) Nelson.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Henry A. and Lillian D. (McCann) Nelson, he had lived in Warwick since 1980 and was a supervisor for the City of Providence Public Works Dept. for 22 years retiring in 1990. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children Edward Ferrante of Providence, Deborah Caverly of Warwick, Dale Sullivan of Ohio, Kimberly Perez of Warwick, James Edens, Jr. of Florida, and Erika Doss of Virginia; 1 sister, Verna D. Rooney of West Palm Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 AM in the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Calling Hours Sunday 5-8 PM. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
