Mass Rites Planned For Three Youths BROOKS -- A mass funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Grant Memorial Auditorium for three of the four youths killed Monday in an automobile accident at Brooks. The service will be held for Donald E. Ricker, 23, of Jackson; Charles R. Fossett, 22, of Brooks; and Stephen F. Elwell, 19, of Brooks. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Kingsbury of Brooks and the Rev. Aubrey Burbank of Skowhegan. Charles R. Fossett was born at Clinton, December 30, 1938, the son of Linwood R. and Violana (Kitchen) Fossett. He was a member of Harvest Home Grange of Brooks. Fossett graduated from Morse Memorial High School in 1956 and the Maine Maritime Academy at Castine in 1959. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Fossett of Bangor; three sisters, Mrs. Joyce McLeod and Miss Ramona Fossett, both of Bangor, and Mrs. Irene Jones of Forest Park, Ga.; three brothers, George of Nevada, Earl and Robert Fossett, both of Bangor; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Stephen F. Elwell was born at Brooks, July 22, 1941, the son of L. Fair and Avie (Bell) Elwell. He graduated from Morse Memorial High School in 1959 and for the past two years had attended Husson College at Bangor. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Hazel R. Elwell of Brooks; his parents of Brooks; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Bell of Brooks; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Eliza Roberts of Brooks; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery at Brooks. Donald E. Ricker was born at Jackson, December 6, 1937, the son of Hugh and Sadie (Work) Ricker. He was a member of the National Guard at Belfast. Survivors are his parents of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Janice Snyder of Monroe and Miss Jolene Ricker of Jackson; three brothers, Dale, Dennis and Darol, all of Jackson; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Work of Jackson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in Jackson Corner Cemetery.
