Stoughton, 49, died March 30, 1993, at her home after a long illness. She was born in Augusta Sept. 28, 1943, the daughter of Mahlon and Anita Douvin Maxim. A graduate of Unity-Freedom High School, she assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm for many years. She operated the R and R Redemption Center in Dixmont and previously had been employed at the Dixmon Corner Store for five years. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Richard Stoughton of Dixmont; two sons, Gregory Moulton of Tallahassee, Fla., and James Stoughton of Dixmont; a daughter, Cynthia Moulton of Plymouth; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Stoughton of Walpole, N.H.; a stepson, John Stoughton of Dixmont; two brothers, Raymond Maxim of Cape Coral, Fla., and Roland Maxim of Thorndike; a sister, Florence Minkevich of Cape Coral, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, corner of Main and Depot, Unity, where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Spring burial will be in Pond Cemetery, Unity.
