OLD TOWN -- Richard Clyde Miles, 35, of Stillwater, husband of Janet (Ogden) Miles, died at a Bangor hospital Tuesday afternoon following a short illness.
 He was born in Stillwater January 6, 1932, son of Clyde Wilbur and Geneva (Thurston) Miles. He was a former member of the Maine National Guard and had been employed by the State Highway Commission for the past eight and a half years.
 Surviving, besides his wife, are his father, Clyde W. Miles of Stillwater; his mother, Mrs. Clarence Smith of Stillwater; three sons, Richard D., Michael E. and George H., all of Stillwater; two brothers, Ernest W. Miles and David E. Miles of Stillwater; three sisters, Mrs. Constance Roy and Mrs. Evangeline Clark, Stillwater, and Mrs. Alice LaChance, Auburn; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Wilbur J. Miles of Orono; his step-father, Clarence Smith of Stillwater; several aunts, auncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Craig-Meader Funeral Chapel, 24 High Street, Old Town. The Rev. Howard E. Benson, minister of the Stillwater Federated Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Friends may call at the funeral home today, 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
