GRAFTON Dale A. "Boomer" Scovil, 65, of North Grafton, passed away April 23, 2006 at home in the care of his family. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Simone A. (LeBlanc) Rebidue Scovil; his mother, Goldie (Raven) Scovil of Upton; 4 sons, Dale A. Jr., his wife Lidia and their children Jamie and Chelsey all of Hudson, Dean V. Scovil of Holliston, Dana J. Scovil and his son Brandon of Webster, Daniel C. and his wife Jennifer of Milford; step-children, Keith Rebidue of Grafton, Randy Rebidue of Brookfield, Mark Rebidue, his wife Christa and their children Ryley and Dylann all of Millbury; his deceased step-son Scott Rebidue's wife Donna and their children, Kevin, Renee and Luc of Grafton; 4 brothers, Dalton Scovil in Maine, Richard Scovil in Florida, Wayne Scovil in Chicago and Kent Scovil in Upton; also his former wife, Elaine (Eisnor) Woodside in S. Carolina.
He was born January 29, 1941 in Worcester son of the late Harry Scovil. Dale was raised in Westborough and lived in Hopedale moving to North Grafton 25 years ago. He attended Westborough High School and then served in The US Army until 1964. Mr. Scovil was a machinist working from 1961 to 1980 at The Draper Corporation in Hopedale and then from 1981 to 2001 at Bay State Abrasives division of Dresser Industries in Westborough.
Boomer played baseball throughout his childhood and was a loyal New York Yankee fan. He was known for his annual wiffle ball tournaments held in his backyard "stadium". Dale also enjoyed being with his complete family and trips to The Mohegan Sun Casino.
Funeral services will be private. All are invited to calling hours Friday April 28th from 5 to 8 pm in THE RONEY FUNERAL HOME NORTH CHAPEL, 152 Worcester St. (Rt. 122 & 140) NORTH GRAFTON. Expressions of sympathy may be made in lieu of flowers to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham MA 01701.
