FREEDOM -- Mae W. Raven, 61, of Freedom, died Tuesday at her residence following a long illness. She was born in Freedom on March 12, 1922, daughter of Oley and Florence (Black) Ward.
She was a member of the Brooks Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, Burleigh Raven of Freedom; two sons, Burleigh Raven Jr. of Clinton and Brian Raven of Freedom; one daughter, Janeta Hewins of Albion; one brother, Roy Ward of Freedom; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Freedom.

Mae married Burleigh Erwin Raven Sr., son of Ernest Edward Raven and Ellura Belle Larrabee, on 27 Mar 1943 in Albion, Kennebec, Maine, United States. (Burleigh Erwin Raven Sr. was born on 12 Apr 1918 in Knox, Waldo, Maine, United States, died on 27 Mar 1991 in Bradenton, Manatee, Florida, United States and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Freedom, Waldo, Maine, United States.)

FREEDOM COUPLE WED
Mr. and Mrs. Oley B. Ward of Freedom announce the marriage of their daughter, Mae Louise, to Burleigh Erwin Raven, son of Mrs. Vra[sic] and the late Ernest Raven of Freedom. The marriage took place Saturday evening at the home of the officiating clergyman, the Rev. Nelson Miles Heikes of Albion. Mrs. Raven attended the Freedom schools and has been employed in Bath. Mr. Raven was graduated from Freedom academy and is employed in defense work. They will reside in New Jersey, where Mr. Raven has employment.
