W.H. Goodhew of Auburn died suddenly of heart disease, Tuesday evening. He had been ill some time, but was feeling better, at the time of his death was walking the floor. He came to Auburn from Presque Isle a short time since, and was a member of the Post at Presque Isle. Since coming to Auburn he had made many friends, and was an estimable citizen.

William married Mary Ann Raven, daughter of William Neal Raven and Hannah Jane Hanson. (Mary Ann Raven was born about 1851 in Keswick Ridge, Bright, York, New Brunswick, Canada, died on 17 Jan 1899 in Auburn, Androscoggin, Maine, United States and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Auburn, Androscoggin, Maine, United States.). The cause of her death was pleuro pneumonia.
