A very pretty, although quiet, wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home of the bride's mother, corner of Willow and Hampshire streets, Auburn. The contracting parties were H. C. Royal, esq., and Miss Ida J. Goodhue. Rev. C. S. Patton of the Congregational church performed the ceremony.
The house was prettily decorated with ferns and roses.
Only the families of the two parties and a few chosen friends were present. The bride wore a becoming travelling gown of brown and gray.
After the ceremony a wedding lunch was served; the tables were decorated with roses and cut flowers.
Miss Annie Goodhue and Miss Florence Royal served the refreshments. The decorating was done by Miss Ida Smith and Miss Bertha Brown.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal left on the 4:30 train amid showers of roses for a wedding trip to Boston and New York.
The presents were many and beautiful. Among them were a silver service, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Goodhue and Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Barton.
