AMELIA V. WHIPPLE
HOULTON, March 12 -- Amelia Violet Whipple, 30, wife of Joseph M. Whipple of Oxbow, died early this morning of in a local hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Masardis, Dec. 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Boardman and Effie (Rideout) Stevens. She was a member of the Oxbow Congregational church.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by five brothers, Merle, Aubrey and Kenneth, all of Ashland, Boardman of York Beach, and Judson of Portsmouth, N.H.; three sisters, Virginia and Beverly of Ashland, and Mrs. Barbara Flemming of Masardis; and several other relatives.
Remains are at the Buzzell funeral home in Houlton, and will be taken to the home of George Avery in Oxbow, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. William G. Barndt officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Oxbow cemetery.

Amelia married Joseph Mory Whipple, son of William Roscoe Whipple and Hattie Eliza Carson, on 1 Oct 1941 in Mapleton, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
