SEARSPORT -- Carl L. Evans, 74, died Aug. 30, 1988, at a Belfast hospital. He was born in Monroe, May 12, 1914, the son of George and Annie (Curtis) Evans. He had been employed at Vikings Lumber Co., Belfast as yard foreman for 37 years. He was a member of the Belfast United Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife, Carlene (Gordon) Evans of Searsport; two sons, Bruce of Swanville and Allen of Searsport; one daughter, Pauline Butler of Castro Valley, Calif.; one brother and sister-in-law, Nathaniel and Jeanette Evans of Searsport; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Ted Cunningham of Guilford, Geneva and Andy Grant of Searsport, Violette Pendleton of Searsport and Marion and Bud Barrett of Stockton Springs; three grandchildren, Erin, Amanda and Bruce Evans; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at Rackliffe Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Belfast, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 1988, with the Rev. August Mende of the Belfast United Pentecostal Church officiating. Interment will be in Smart Cemetery, Belfast. Memorial donations may be made to the Belfast United Pentecostal Church Building Fund, care of Nathaniel Evans, treasurer, Route 1, Searsport, ME 04974.
