UNITY -- Shirley Louise Gordon of Unity passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville.
She was born in Groton, Mass., on April 23, 1935, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Ramsey) Douglas.
When Shirley was 3, the family moved to Waterville where she resided for most of her life. She was employed by Thayer and Seton Hospitals until she married and then she lived in Freeport for a short time.
Shirley and her husband, Harold, moved back to central Maine where she worked in the shoe factory in Pittsfield until her retirement in 1995.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her husband, Harold; her brother, Edgar Douglas of Idaho; her sister, Geraldine Graham of Unity; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Webster Cemetery in Freeport.
Shirley married Harold Eslie Gordon, son of George Clarence Gordon and Ruby Geneva Merry, on 27 May 1978 in Maine, United States.
