He is survived by his wife Marjorie, three daughters, Joanne Knight and her companion, Loren Reed of Charlestown, Virginia Poisson and her husband, Fred of Charlestown and Barbara Stoodley and her husband, Dr. Roland Stoodley of Charlestown; one son, Kristian Fenderson and companion, Alston Barrett of Acworth; five grandchildren, Martha Schadler and fiancé, Edward Faxon, Betsy Mellish and her husband, Sean, Aaron Knight and his wife, Cindy, Fred Poisson, Jr and his wife, Nichole and Heather Drew Blackwelder and her husband, John; also eight great grandchildren.
Committal service will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown, NH.

Ernest married Marjorie Joyce Drew, daughter of George Emery Drew and Lila Martha Howes, on 17 Jun 1944 in Presque Isle, Aroostook, Maine, United States. (Marjorie Joyce Drew was born on 14 Aug 1926 in Masardis, Aroostook, Maine, United States, died on 13 Mar 2013 in Springfield, Windsor, Vermont, United States and was buried in Pine Crest Cemetery, Charlestown, Sullivan, New Hampshire, United States.)
