AUBURNDALE, FL -- Cecilia M. 'Celia' Gardner of Auburndale, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014, from respiratory failure. She was 71. A native of Fall River, MA, born March 2, 1943, to Manuel and Jacintha Simos Mello, Celia moved here in 1970, from Vernon, CT. She was the owner of Something Special Gift Shop, and the Amber Glo Restaurant. Celia was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Celia was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers, Edward & Hiram Mello. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard 'Dick' Gardner; her sons, Richard R. 'Rick' Gardner, II of Winter Haven, and Thomas M. 'Tommy' Gardner of Lake Alfred; her daughters, Susanne C. 'Susie' Gardner of Polk City, and Nancy L. Gardner of Auburndale; and her sister, Hilda Martin (John) of Vernon, CT. Celia also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
