MASARDIS -- Phyllis T. Cain, 70, died Feb. 8, 1993, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in Houlton, Jan. 5, 1923, the daughter of John and Vera (Kilpatrick) Tilley. Mrs. Cain was the owner and operator of Cain's Store in Masardis for more than 40 years and served as postmistress for Masardis for many years. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Tillikum Chapter OES of Ashland. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Littlefield of Bangor and Mrs. Roderick (Candace) Cyr or Portage Lake; one grandson, Edward Littlefield of Presque Isle; one granddaughter, Mariechene Cyr of Portage Lake; one great-granddaughter Areahnna Littlefield of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Dana Drew, in 1944; and by her second husband, Clifford Cain, in 1980. Relatives and friends may call at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 37 Exchange St., Ashland, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Donald Morton officiating. Committal services and spring interment will be in Masardis Municipal Cemetery.
