PALM BAY \emdash Retired Army Capt. Edward J. Kenney, 74, died Friday, May 2, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Mr. Kenney was born in Freeport, N.Y., and came to Brevard County in 1994 from Orlando.
He was a 22-year veteran of World War II and the Korean War. For his service, Mr. Kenney was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Campain Medal with four bronze stars and one bronze arrowhead; Purple Heart; Presidential Unit Citation; Combat Infantry Badge; Belgian Fourragere; World War II Victory Medal; Expert Combat Infantryman's Medal; and Master Parachutist Badge. He was wounded in action in Belgium.
Mr. Kenney was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palm Bay, the Purple Heart Association, The Retired Officers Association, the Officers Club in Newport, R.I., and the Massachusetts Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kenney of Palm Bay; daughters, Pamela Looke of Maine, Jayne Huston of Orlando, Deanna Costa of Massachusetts and Laurel Kenney of Palm Bay.

Edward married Marie Mae Gordon, daughter of Walter Carl Gordon Sr. and Bernice Eloise Merry, in Jan 1947. The marriage ended in divorce. (Marie Mae Gordon was born on 4 May 1918 in Belfast, ME,4 died on 2 Jan 1992 in Belfast, ME and was buried in Grove Cemetery, Belfast, ME.)
