ORONO -- Clara "Claire" J. Sewell, 50, wife of Leyton E. Sewell, died at a Bangor hospital Oct. 25, 1994. She was born in Bangor, Jan. 10, 1944, the daughter of George and Georgia (Boulter) McCorrison. She was employed by Campus Living of the University of Maine. A lifelong resident of Orono, she was a member of the Orono Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her parents of Orono; her son, Jeffrey L. Sewell of Orono; her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda J. and John Ryan of Bangor; her grandson, Nicholas Anthony Ryan of Bangor; her sisters, Cynthia Brown of Fabius, N.Y., Jane Allen of Greenville, S.C.; her uncle, John Stewart of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Orono United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. James Young, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
