FALL RIVER \endash Philip D. Paiva, age 89, passed away on September 14, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Boynton) Paiva. Born in Fall River, son of Manuel and Annie (Czerwinski) Paiva.
Philip had a true passion for fishing and could tell you exactly when and where the fish would be biting, as well as what bait to use\emdash knowledge that made him seem like a professional, even though he fished simply for the love of it. Along with his love for the water, he had a knack for collecting and holding onto treasures that others might overlook, always finding purpose and value in the things around him. His hobbies reflected his unique spirit, resourcefulness, and eye for the simple joys in life. He served honorably for the Air Force and U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his daughter Marsha Paiva (husband Matt) and brother David Paiva (wife Suzanne).
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, September 18th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph's Church at 10 A.M. Calling hours on Wednesday, September 17th from 4-6 P.M.
