Jennifer R. (Ducky) Carson, 19, of Thorndike and a former resident of Montville, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 20, 1997 at a Waterville hospital.
She was born in Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 3, 1977, the daughter of Charles and Mary Mitchell Carson.
In 1996 she graduated from Mt. View High School in Thorndike and was employed as a hostess at the Weathervane Restaurant in Belfast. She was engaged to Richard Shaw of Unity.
Survivors include her parents, Charles Carson and his wife Carol of Montville and her mother, Mary Morton of Albion; her paternal grandmother, Audrey Carson of Thorndike; her maternal grandmother, Lloyd Mitchell, and her step-grandmother, Wilberta Mitchell, of Liberty; step-grandmother, Marilyn Leathers of Belfast; a half-brother, Josh Erie, and a half-sister, Heather Erie, both of Albion; stepsisters, Jennifer and Laurie Thayer of Montville and Stacy Thayer of Belfast; her fiancee, Richard Shaw; as well as many aunts, uncles, three stepnieces and several cousins. To her Dad, Mom, Jennifer and Laurie, she was very special and will be remembered with love forever.
A celebration of her life was held on Monday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at the Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Main and Depot streets, Unity, with the Rev. Elizabeth Cole officiating.
Burial was in East Thorndike.
Memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund being established in her memory at Mt. View High School, Thorndike.
