LUBEC and ASHLAND -- Florence M. Carson, 90, died Oct. 4, 1983, at a Lubec nursing home. She was born in Oxbow, July 27, 1893, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Flemming) Smith. She was a graduate of Shaws Business College of Portland and was at one time employed by the Ashland Gazette. Prior to moving to Lubec, she lived most of her life in the Ashland-Oxbow Area. She Is survived by her son, Henry Carson of Lubec; five grandchildren. Graveside committal services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ashland Cemetery.
