ORAL POOLER STAIRS
WASHBURN -- Oral Pooler Stairs, 79, died April 4, 1996, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in Washburn, Sept. 1, 1916, the daughter of John and Iva (Corey) Langin. Mrs. Stairs was a member of the Washburn Pentecostal Church. She has loved Washburn and lived there all her life. She graduated from NMVTI School of Nursing at Presque Isle and nursed at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Lois McCrossin of Holden; one son, Kermit Pooler and his wife, Sue, of Fort Kent; six grandchildren, Eugene, Cheri, Beth, Eric, Kathie and Jesse; also three beloved great-grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda and Appalonia; a sister, Lottie Pooler; a niece, Sheryl Bragg; a nephew, Joseph Pooler all of Ocala, Fla.; also several nieces and nephews in the area. She will be greatly missed by her two special friends, Cynthia Carmichael and Wilma Fields. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Washburn Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bruce Blakney and Cynthia Carmichael officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn, later in the spring.
