EUGENE C. POOLER
WASHBURN -- Eugene C. Pooler, 60, died April 10 at a Bangor hospital following a long illness.
He was born at Wade March 39[sic], 1911, the son of Joseph and Minnie (Raven) Pooler.
Pooler served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the Washburn Masonic Lodge, the Squa Pan Outing Club and the Little Madawaska Lake Corporation.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Oral (Langin) Pooler of Washburn; one son, Kermit of Fort Kent; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lois) McCrossin of Presque Isle; two brothers, William of Grafton, Mass., and Bernard of Avon, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Glen (Evelyn) Wilcox of Woodland, Mrs. Leigh (Anie[sic]) Nickerson and Mrs. Hanford (Ruth) Duncan, both of Washburn, and Mrs. Chris (Josephine) Vasil of Worcester, Mass.; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle Monday, 7-9 p.m., and a Masonic memorial service will be held there at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 3 p.m. with the Revs. Bernard Patten of Presque Isle and Carmine Centineo, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Washburn, officiating.
Military committall services will be held in the Riverside Extension Cemetrey[sic], Washburn, later this spring.
