Rev. John E. Raven, 82, died Feb. 10 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy R. Moody, 24 Bay View street, Belfast, where he had lived since November. He formerly lived in Knox and moved to Winterport about six years ago. Since his wife's death in March, he lived with his daughters, Mrs. Mattie Knowles and Mrs. Hazel Woodbury in Monroe until coming to Belfast. Other relatives living are the following sons and daughters: William Raven of Knox, Herman Raven of Unity, Mrs. Minnie Pooler of Washburn and Mrs. Lila Scott of Brewer.
Wm. A. Thompson of Freedom was the funeral director and the funeral services were held at the Knox Ridge Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Elbridge Davis officiating.

John married Evelyn L. "Evie" Farley about 1883. (Evelyn L. "Evie" Farley was born on 18 Aug 1866 in Hodgdon, Aroostook, Maine, United States, died on 17 Aug 1903 in Wade, Aroostook, Maine, United States and was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Center, Woodland, Aroostook, Maine, United States.). The cause of her death was myocarditis.

John next married Rose Ann Farley on 4 Jul 1905 in Washburn, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
