DOROTHY M. MOODY
SPRINGVALE -- Dorothy M. Moody, 91, of Hansons Ridge Road, passed away Wedesday, July 31, 2002, at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born April 17, 1911, in Knox, a daughter of John and Rosa (Farley) Raven.
Mrs. Moody attended the Bethel Christian Church in North Berwick, where she was a member of the Ladies Prayer Group. She loved to read and share the Bible with others. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Her husband, Ellis N. Moody passed away in 1994. She was also predeceased by a son, Ellis N. Moody Jr., in 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Marilyn) Batal Sr. of Springvale; three grandchildren, Pamela Sullivan of Lisbon Falls, Steven Moody of Belfast and Sonia Nichols of Sanford; three step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, preceded by a visiting hour at 9:30 a.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick, with the Rev. Robert G. Cole Sr., of the Beth Christian Church, officiating. Interment in the Pilgrims Home Cemetery, Monroe.
