ELLIS N. MOODY
BELFAST -- Ellis N. Moody, 81, died Oct. 16, 1994, at a Belfast nursing home, after a long illness. He was born at Monroe Nov. 4, 1912, the son of Maurice F. and Clara (Ward) Moody. He attended Monroe Schools and during the 50's had worked as a school bus driver; was employed by Sam Hart's Garage in Belfast and during the 60's he became self-employed as a small engine mechanic. He worked until he became hospitalized in April of 1994. He enjoyed fishing and playing the harmonica. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Raven) Moody, whom he married in 1934; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Marilyn) Batal; two granddaughters, Mrs. Louis (Pamela) Burbank Sullivan of Lisbon Falls and Mrs. Stephen (Sonia) Burbank Nichols of Sanford; a grandson, Steven Moody and his wife, Janna of Waldo; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Ambrose, Florian, Atwood and Edmund. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Young Funeral Home, Rte. 3, Belmont Avenue, Belfast, with the Rev. Clayton Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Home Cemetery, Monroe.

Ellis married Dorothy Madelon "Dot" Raven, daughter of John Edward Raven and Rose Ann Farley, on 20 Jul 1934 in Searsport, Waldo, Maine, United States.
