THORNDIKE -- William H. Raven, 90, died at his home on the Brooks Road late Dec. 31, 1979, after a long illness.
He was born in Washburn, June 9, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Raven. He was a farmer for many years in Knox and Thorndike. He was a former member of Sunlight Grange in Knox. He is survived by six sons, Lawrence of Knox, John of Yarmouth, Merle of Augusta, Harold, Daniel and William, all of Thorndike; eight daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Ethel) Pattee and Mrs. Cecil (Edith) Porter of Brooks; Mrs. John (Ferne) Thompson of Northfield, Mrs. Chapman (Mable) Larrabee and Mrs. Guy (Judy) Porter, and Miss Minnie Raven, all of Thorndike, Mrs. Omar (Lila) Bryant of Knox, Mrs. Wayne (Alfrieda) Moore of Germany; one sister, Mrs. Lila Scott of Brewer; a half-sister, Mrs. Dorothy Moody of Belfast; 63 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church.
Friends may call at the Lawry Brothers Funeral home at the corner of Main and Depot Streets in Unity on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

William married Naomi Pearl "Pearl" Carmichael on 21 Oct 1915 in Victoria, New Brunswick, Canada.
