THORNDIKE -- Mrs. William (N. Pearl) Raven, 73, of Thorndike, died July 29, at a Waterville hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Wade, Feb. 1, 1897, the daughter of John and Ora (Miller) Carmichael.
She was a resident of Knox for many years before moving to Thorndike.
She was a member of Sunlight Grange in Knox.
She is survived by her husband of Thorndike, six sons, Lawrence of Knox, Harold, Daniel, and William, all of Thorndike, John of Yarmouth, and Merle of Augusta, eight daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Ethel) Pattee and Mrs. Cecil (Edith) Porter of Brooks, Mrs. John (Ferne) Thompson of Machias, Mrs. Chapman (Mabel) Larrabee, Mrs. Guy (Judy) Porter and Miss Minnie Raven, all of Thorndike, Mrs. Omar (Lila) Bryant of Knox, Mrs. Wayne (Alfrieda) Moore of Warren, two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Beulah) Churchill and Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Churchill, both of Wade, four brothers, Charles Miller of Haverhill, Mass., Harold Carmichael of Dixmont, and Milford Carmichael of Castle Hill; 63 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Knox Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Philbrick officiating.
Burial will be in the East Thorndike Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rakliffe Funeral Home, Belfast, Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
