 THORNDIKE -- Carl E. Raven, 35, died Sunday at his home here.
 Born at Knox, Dec. 14, 1931, he was the son of William and Naomi (Carmichael) Raven.
 For the past 10 years he had been employed as a guard at a Pratt and Whitney plant in Connecticut an recently returned to Thorndike. He had served with the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict.
 Besides his parents of Thorndike, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gloria (Ludden) Raven of Thorndike; a son, Carl, Jr., and twin daughters Carla and Carleen Raven, all of Thorndike; six brothers, Harold A., David[sic] O., William E., all of Thorndike, Lawrence E., of Knox, John H., of Cumberland, and Merle of Andover, Conn.; eight sisters, Miss Minnie Raven, Mrs. Ora Porter, Mrs.  Mabel Larrabee, all of Thorndike, Mrs. Alfreda Avery of Holden, Mrs. Ethel Pattee and Mrs. Edith Porter, both of Brooks, Mrs. Fern Thompson of Machias, Mrs. Lila Bryant of Knox; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Thorndike Congregational Church with Mr. Paul Wedlock of the Bangor Theological Seminary officiating.
 Spring burial will be at Thorndike.
 
 Carl married Gloria Carlene Ludden on 24 Dec 1952 in Newport, Penobscot, Maine, United States.  NEWPORT, Dec. 26--Glorida[sic] C. Ludden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ludden, Sr. of Jackson and Carl E. Raven, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Raven of Thorndike, were married Wednesday evening at the High street residence of the Rev. John W. Reynolds.
 The couple was attended by Mrs. Donna L. Tibbetts, sister of the bride, and Cecil R. Porter.
