Our community was shocked by the sudden death of Mrs. John Raven at her home Monday morning, Aug. 17. She was ill only a few days, but felt from the first that she would not recover. She lacked one day of being thirty-six years old. Besides a husband and seven children she leaves a mother, four sisters, three brothers and many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Being a helpful and loving wife and mother, loving and loved by relatives and friends, her death leaves a place that can never be filled again in this life.
 "Another hand is beck'ning us,
 Another call is given;
 And glows once more with angel steps
 The path that leads to heaven.
 Our Father's will alone
 Once thought has reconciled,
 That He, whose love exceedeth ours,
 Has taken home his child.
 Fold her, O, Father, in thine arms
 And let her henceforth be
 A messenger of love between
 Our human hearts and Thee.
 Still let her mild rebukings stand
 Betweem us and the wrong,
 And her dear mem'ry serve to make
 Our faith in goodness strong.
