Alfreda Raven Moore, 60, of Thorndike, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995 at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Knox on Nov. 12, 1934, the daughter of William H. and Pearl N. (Carmichael) Raven.
She graduated from Freedom Academy and was a member of Knox Station Grange. She was also the past president of the Thorndike Ladies Fire Auxiliary, serving many years on the fire response committee.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne of Thorndike, and two sons, Ralph Avery Jr. and his fiance, Marjorie Wahl and her children, Monica and Joshua of Bath and Nelson Moore and his friend, Kara McQuilken of Bangor; five brothers, Harold "Mike" Raven and his wife, Marguerite, Daniel O. Raven, and William E. "Bub" Raven, all of Thorndike, John H. "Jack" Raven and his wife, Agnes of Cumberland and Merle Raven and his wife, Val of Augusta. Seven sisters, Ethel Pattee and her husband, Clayton of Brooks, Mrs. John (Ferne) Thompson of Northfield, Mable Larrabee and her husband, Chapman of Thorndike, Mrs. Omar (Lila) Bryant of Knox, Judy Porter and her husband, Guy R. of Thorndike, Edith Porter and her husband, Cecil of Brooks, and Minnie Raven of Thorndike; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Avery Sr., and three brothers, Lawrence Raven of Knox, Seth Raven of Searsport and Carl Raven of Thorndike.
She will be remembered by her food friends Joyce and Karl Julian of Thorndike and Thomas and Dorish Ashford of Bangor.
At her request there will be no visiting hours or funeral and all arrangements will be taken care of through Direct Cremation of Maine.
