SCOTT, Byron B. Sr., 84, died May 28 in a Bangor hospital. He was born in Springfield Dec. 31, 1888, son of Frank and Rosina (McCassalin) Scott. He lived most of his life in Bangor and Brewer.
He was employed for more than 50 years by the Maine Central Railroad. He was a member of the Order of Railway Conductors, a 60-year member of St. Andrew's Lodge No. 83 F&AM and Mt. Moriah Royal Arch Chapter No. 6 of Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Lila (Ravin) Scott; four daughters, Mrs. Natalie Eames, Bangor, Mrs. Salvatore (Eleanor) Gulisano, New York and Florida, Mrs. Rosalie Ann Cole, Brewer, and Mrs. Charles (Nelda) Conti, Dunkirk, NY; one son, Byron B. Scott Jr., Brewer; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Philip E. Piper Funeral Home, 185 North Main Street, Brewer, Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Arthur C. Woodward officiating. Calling hours 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Friends who wish may make donations to the Bangor-Brewer T.B. and Health Association in his memory.


Byron married Lila Alta Raven, daughter of John Edward Raven and Evelyn L. "Evie" Farley, on 6 Jul 1928 in St. Stephen, Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada. (Lila Alta Raven was born on 16 Apr 1901 in Wade, Aroostook, Maine, United States, died on 10 Oct 1987 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, United States and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer, Penobscot, Maine, United States.)
