CHARLES ABBOTT THORNDIKE -- Charles Abbott, 82, died at a Waterville hospital Saturday after a brief illness. He was born at Knox, Nov. 4, 1885, the son of Sumner and Anna (Gordon) Abbott. He had resided in Thorndike most of his life and was a member of the Knox Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his widow, Etta (Raven) Abbott of Thorndike; one son, Roland; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Knox Pentecostal Church in Knox with the Rev. Max Leavitt of Winterport officiating. Burial will be at Knox Ridge Cemetery. Charles married Etta May Raven, daughter of William Henry Raven and Rose Ann Farley, on 5 Nov 1910 in Knox, ME.1 2 (Etta May Raven was born on 17 Jun 1888 in Washburn, ME,10 died on 14 Feb 1978 in Waterville, ME and was buried in Knox Ridge Cemetery, Knox, ME.)
