BELFAST -- Ava (Towers) Cunningham, 92, died Aug. 20, 2005, in Belfast. She was born n Liberty, Jan. 7, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Estella (Howes) Bailey. She was a member of the Equity Grange.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Harold Towers and Elbridge Cunningham; and a daughter, Mildred Gott. She is survived by a son, Robert Towers of Chelsea; three daughters, Vera Warren of Belfast, Margaret Kinney of Gardiner, and Flora Towers of Bucksport; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Freddie Bailey of of Knox; a sister, Sadie Ward of Searsport; and a half-sister, Laura Higgins of Albion.
Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with David Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at the Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Friends may make memorial donations to the Waldo County General Hospital General Fund.
Ava had a relationship with Herman Beecher Raven, son of John Edward Raven and Rose Ann Farley.
