GARDINER - Margaret Hazel Kinney, 85, passed away at her residence in Gardiner on December 19, 2016 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born in Knox on November 22, 1931 to Harold and Ava (Bailey) Towers. She was raised in Belfast where she attended high school and worked as a bookkeeper. Margaret loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing. She and her husband took annual trips that eventually allowed them to see the entire United States.
She was predeceased by both parents; a brother Robert Towers, two sisters, Vera Warren and Millie Gott. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clinton Kinney; her children, Stephen Kinney and wife Becky of Virginia, Keith Kinney and wife Shari of Bridgton, Cathy Doyle and husband Leon of Chelsea, Gary Kinney and wife Maggie of Dexter, Dale Kinney and wife Nancy of Skowhegan; her sister Flora Towers; grandchildren, Jason Kinney, Erin Doyle, Stephen Kinney, Jennifer Doyle, Brian Kinney, Patrick Kinney, Nathan Kinney, Heather Welch, Danny Kinney; several step-grandchildren; her great-grandchildren, Tiffany Doyle, Kylee Morrison, Parker Welch and Christen Kinney as well as several step great-grandchildren.
