BROOKS, Feb. 12 -- Lyndon E. Knowles, 68, died at a Bangor hospital Friday morning after several months of ill health.
He was born in Parkman, June 12, 1891, the son of Melvin and Mertie (Wentworth) Knowles.
He had been a resident of Brooks for the past two years. He had resided in St. Albans for several years and had lived for many years in Monroe, where he had engaged in farming.
Mr. Knowles was a member of the Cambridge Lodge of Masons and was past master of Parkmanand Monroe Granges.
He is survived by his widow, Mattie Knowles; two sons, Morton C. of Seymour, Conn., and Kenneth Knowles of Winthrop; a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Holt of Hartland; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Hartland, Saturday from 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoonand from 7 to 8 o'clock in the evening.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Thomas, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Cambridge in the Spring.

Lyndon married Mattie A. Raven, daughter of John Edward Raven and Evelyn L. "Evie" Farley, on 10 Apr 1914 in Knox, Waldo, Maine, United States. (Mattie A. Raven was born on 31 May 1896 in Wade, Aroostook, Maine, United States, died on 22 May 1976 in Augusta, Kennebec, Maine, United States and was buried in Cambridge Memorial Garden, Cambridge, Somerset, Maine, United States.)
