Methuen - Mr. Ralph G. Potter Jr. 47, of Methuen, beloved husband of Kimarie Roy, died after being struck by lightning, Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he was the son of Emily Ann (Gordon) Potter of Exeter, NH and the late Ralph G. Potter Sr. He was raised and educated in Massachusetts and earned his Bachelors Degree from Worcester State College. Mr. Potter had been employed by the Haverhill public school system as an occupational therapist working with children with special needs.
Ralph loved nature and spent much time with his wife hiking, birding, skiing and canoeing throughout the northeast. He especially loved hiking in the White Mountains.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he is survived by his mother's partner, Bill Lord of Exeter NH, his sister, Sandy Cyr and her husband Dan of Sandown, NH, his brother Dan Potter and partner Pam Jewett of Haverhill, his brother Ray Potter of Haverhill, his very close friend John Bennett of Hampstead, NH, his father and mother-in-law, Leo and Theresa Roy of Methuen, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA 01844. A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the North Parish Unitarian Church, 190 Academy Road, North Andover, MA.
