THORNDIKE -- George C. Gordon, 81, died Saturday in a Belfast nursing home.
He was born here Nov. 28, 1886, the son of Eslie and Mary (Gordon) Gordon.
He was the widower of Mrs. Ruby (Merry) Gordon.
Surviving are four sons, Maurice of Portland, Alvah of Belfast, Harold of Freeport, and Ralph of Unity; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Seekins of Freeport; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Village Church with the Rev. S. G. Hilyard officiating.
Burial will be in the Knox Station Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Brazier Funeral Home, Brooks, Monday.

George married Ruby Geneva Merry, daughter of Herbert Leslie Merry and Selena Irene Raven, on 14 Nov 1916 in Belfast, Waldo, Maine, United States.
