 BURNHAM - Alton O. Gordon Sr., 93, died Sept 2, 2016 at his Burnham home following a long illness. He was born in Thorndike, Me March 25, 1923 the son of Walter C. and Bernice E.(Merry) Gordon. Alton quit school so he could join the service. We as an Army Air Force Veteran of WW II. For many years Alton was employed in local shoe shops as a shoe cutter. For over 20 years he was a supervisor in the shoe shop. After his retirement from the shoe business he became a Rural Mail Carrier in the Thorndike area.
 Alton was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting and fishing. He was Master Maine Guide. He was married to Katherine (Dwelley) Gordon who predeceased him on May 3, 2014.
 He is survived by his son, Alton O. Gordon Jr. and his wife Cathy of Plymouth, his daughters, Mary Ramsdell and her companion Peter Fournier of Newport, Janet L Colford and her husband Rodney of Brewer, his sisters Carlene Hall of Belfast and Norma Duplisea of Burnham, his grandchildren; Blake Hunt, Jennifer Hunt, Dawn Marie Ramsdell, Allison New, Catherine Gordon, Laura Gordon, his great- grandchildren; Lillian Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Lane Quinn, Destiny Quinn, and Samuel New.
 Memorial services for Alton will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept 17, 2016 at the Winnecook Christian Church 4 Chapel Lane, Burnham, Maine, followed by a pot luck luncheon at the Church.
