HERBERT L. MERRY THORNDIKE, June 4 --Herbert L. Merry, 66, died at his home after about two weeks illness with pneumonia. He came to Thorndike about 25 years ago from Aroostook county and has been a succesful farmer. He is survived by his wife, a son; Rev. John Merry of Searsport; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gordon and Mrs. Bernice Gordonof Belfast and a brother in San Diego, Cal. Funeral services were held at his home Saturday, Rev. George Hustus of Jackson officiating. Interment at Center cemetery. Herbert married Selena Irene Raven, daughter of William Neal Raven and Hannah Jane Hanson, on 13 May 1894 in Caribou, ME.1 (Selena Irene Raven was born on 31 Mar 1856 in Hainesville, NB,6 7 died on 2 Apr 1942 and was buried in Thorndike Center Cemetery, Thorndike, ME.)
