GORDON, BRYAN J., 64, of Wilna Street, died Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda C. (MacKay) Gordon to whom he was married for the past forty five years. Born in Waterville, Maine, he was a son of the late Maurice and Joyce (Shorey) Gordon. Bryan was a patrolman for the Providence Police Department for twenty four years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge # 3, the Retired Providence Police & Firefighters Association, the Providence Police Association, the American Legion, Am Vets, and the National Rifle Association. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Bryan loved springtime, because it gave him time to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and enjoy time with his wife and friends. Beside his wife Linda, he leaves a son, Bryan J. Gordon and his wife Susan, of Scituate; a daughter, Lora J. Benetti and her companion, Joseph, of Pawtucket; two brothers, Anthony Raposa and Romeo Gordon; a sister, Donna Nelson; and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Robert, and Ariana Benetti and Zachary Gordon. The funeral service will be held Monday, at 11:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
