FRANK HOWES
OXBOW -- Frank W. Howes, 90, a well known farmer and lumberman, died Sunday at a Fort Kent hospital following a long illness.
He was born in Ashland, Sept. 10, 1876, the son of William and Mary (Markee) Howes.
Howes was a 50-year member of Pioneer Lodge A. F. and A. M. of Ashland; he was a past master of Oxbow Grange, a past superintendent of Oxbow schools, and a member of Oxbow Congregational Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Miss Pearl Howes of Oxbow, Mrs. Clarice Gulnac of Bucksport, Mrs. Lila Drew of Masardis; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Stimson Funeral Home in Ashland Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held at the Oxbow Congregational Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Garvey MacLean, pastor of the United Church of Christ of Presque Isle, officiating.
Burial will be in the family lot in Willard Cemetery.

Frank married Eva Martha Willard, daughter of Charles Albion Willard and Amanda J. Raven, on 17 Apr 1898 in Oxbow, Aroostook, Maine, United States.
