OLD TOWN - Norman Eugene Ogden, 81, passed away peacefully September 16, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Norman was born August 5, 1934, in Old Town, the son of Norman Wesley and Mabel (Carson) Ogden.
Norman worked for Bangor hydro for many years before he retired as a superintendent. He enjoyed volunteering for Old Town fire department and helping out at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church as an altar server and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He loved his family and is survived by his wife of 61 years Constance (Doucette) Ogden, daughters Catherine Metivier and husband Philip, Jeannette Bernard and husband Randy, Peggy Severance and fiancé Gene Babcock, Donna Hesseltine and husband Richard; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and his sister Janet Thurston and her husband Roy. In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by his two sisters Addie Lou Bergeron and Rebecca Ogden.
Friends may call Friday, September 18, 2015 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main. St. Old Town from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to one of the following charities; Alzheimer's Association 383 US Route One #2C, Scarborough, ME 04074 or American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Orono Commons' Homestead Unit for their patience, care and compassion of Norman over the last few months.

OLD TOWN, Jan. 24 -- Miss Constance Mary Doucette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Doucette, 66 Sixth Street and Norman Eugene Ogden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman W. Ogden of RFD No. 1, Old Town were married Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock at St. Joseph's rectory. The Rev. Paul Pare officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a light blue suit, white accessories and a corsage of white roses. The bridesmaid wore a navy blue suit and her corsage was of yellow roses.
The bride's mother wore a grey dress and black accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a black dress with matching accessories.
After the ceremony a buffet lunch was served at the home of the bridge's mother. The wedding cake was made by the bridegroom's mother.
Both the bride and the bridegroom attended Old Town High School. He is employed by the Old Town Canoe Company.
