STILLWATER -- Norman Wesley Ogden, 82, died peacefully Jan. 7, 1996, at his home in Stillwater. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mabel Carson Ogden. He was born March 18, 1913, in Township 32, the son of John R. and Gladys (Nickerson) Ogden. He retired in 1988 as foreman of the Enfield Division of the Maine Department of Transportation after 42 years of service. He was an avid Old Town basketball fan and enjoyed going to Speedway 95 where he watched his grandson race. He is survived by his four children, Norman E. and his wife, Connie Ogden, Janet and her husband, Roy Thurston, Addie Lou and her husband, Charlie Bergeron, and Rebecca "Becky" Ogden, all of Stillwater. He was a loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and six step-greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Ester Weinstein of Old Town and Louise Dall of Stillwater; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, John Price, Ora "Tink" and Wilbur "Billy" Ogden. and two sisters, Mary Gilbert and Reta Cookson. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ronald Chaffee officiating. Spring interment will be in Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
